LASERWOLF: Glowforge Projects Blog

Week Four: Christmas

When I was a kid, I went to the local hobby shop, bought a bag of 1" wood squares, painted them a bunch of different shades of green, and glued them to a piece of paper. I was like, wtf am I going to do with this? I've never been one to start with a plan.

Long story short, I ended up making a dishes clean / dishes dirty sign for my parents' dishwasher. They still have this thing 25 years later. It's disgusting and moldy. Last time I was home, I was like, "You should get rid of this." My mother requested that I make them a new one.

So I made this with the Glowforge and something called a "Chicago screw" which took a LOT of hunting to find. It can lay flat on the counter or attach to the dishwasher via magnet. It is still kind of dumb, but it is a HUGE upgrade. It is made from maple plywood, translucent green acrylic, and draft board.

You're welcome, Mom.
